Officially opened in 2000: the Attica Zoo contains a Bird Park, the 3rd largest bird collection in the world (1100 birds from 300 different species), the 'World of Reptiles' with Pythons, Boas, Crocodiles and 'Greek Fauna' with Wolves, Brown Bears, Foxes, Wild Cats, Lynes. In 2003 the Zoo added Monkeys and Apes and 2004 Tigers, Servals, Ocelots and Pygmy Hipps, Prairie dogs, African wild dogs and Alligators.

The Athens New Digital Planetarium
One of
the largest digital planetariums in the world. It offers a fascinating
visual trip to the stars. Recently renovated, it features an ultra
modern, 280-person capacity projection hall with specially designed
inclined seating, a huge semi-circular dome which also functions as a
dome theater for wide screen film screenings, a 1,800 square meter
exhibition area, a modern conference centre, and a scientific and
technical multimedia library.

The National Gardens or Vassilikos
(Royal Gardens)
Located in Athens and behind the Parliament you will find 15.5 hectares
of magnificent gardens. The gardens is managed and owned by the City of
Athens. You and your children can spend hours walking, relaxing,
strolling around. There are 2 duck ponds, a small zoo and a cafe to
stop for a cold drink. Your kids will love when the ducks come
strolling to your table begging for food.
